East County Citizens for Community Colleges supports the efforts of the Grossmont Cuyamaca Community College District to repair and upgrade aging classrooms and educational facilities on the campuses of Grossmont College and Cuyamaca College with the No Tax Rate Increase Facilities Bond that will be on the November 2026 ballot.

Is Built At Our Community Colleges
The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District, with Grossmont College and Cuyamaca College, provides an affordable college education to over 30,000 students each year, creating pathways to career and transfer opportunities for community members from all walks of life. As of 2026, approximately four out of five East County residents have taken a class through our colleges.
The No Tax Rate Increase Facilities Bond will provide funding for classroom upgrades to provide East County students safe and modern learning environments to prepare them for careers in our local economy.
The No Tax Rate Increase Bond
This bond measure will provide funding for the repair and upgrade aging facilities at Grossmont College and Cuyamaca College
that serve students preparing for careers in our local economy. The bond will focus on the three major areas below.
Infrastucture Repairs
Aging infrastructure, classrooms, and support spaces at both colleges are in desparate need of repairs and replacement. Critical infrastructure systems such as roofs, storm drains, and electrical systems are failing. Additionally, campuswide upgrades are needed to provide safe, accessible, and ADA compliant walkways, stairs, and classrooms.
Classroom Upgrades
As technology rapidly advances, East County students, including working families and veterans, deserve up-to-date classrooms and modern equipment to adequately prepare them to be competitive in the job market. this bond will provide funding for classroom upgrades, repairs, and replacements that are desparately needed in workforce training facilities, classrooms, and laboratories.
Fire and Safety Upgrades
Water and fire safety systems at are aging and inadequate to protect the campuses and surrounding neighborhoods. To protect students, staff and campus neighbors this bond will fund emergency preparedness needs that include critical improvements to water infrastructure, access, pressure, and supply, such as the installation of new fire sprinklers and other modern systems to ensure campus safety in the event of a wildfire.
